What if I want to get married in the church?
We do marry persons who are not members of our congregation. You are required to use one of our ministers and our organist. The couple needs first to make a date with one of our ministers for a conversation about marriage before we agree to perform your wedding. Our ministers are open to inviting visiting ministers to assist in the ceremony. You may also rent Robinson Hall for your wedding reception, but the church has a no-alcohol policy.

Our sign states All Are Welcome – expressed as a tenet of our faith and our covenant with God and with one another. In scripture we find ground for a definition of marriage and family relationships based on the affirmation of the full humanity of each partner, lived out in mutual care and respect for one another. The rite of Christian Marriage at Glen Ridge Congregational Church is a pastoral concern entered into between the officiating minister and the couple wishing to be wed. We welcome all people regardless of age, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability who are interested in marriage to be part of this conversation. Our ministers are also open to sharing the ceremony with clergy from other traditions. We welcome you to be part of our conversation each Sunday morning and throughout the life our church.
